Self-Portrait

Like many people, my name is far too common to be used on any search engine to find me. Looking up my username is another story, given that it is unique. Searching for my username on Google images brings up hundreds of images I drew or captioned in Drawception, as well as a few images I've posted on the Path of Exile forums and the Warframe forums. Looking up my username in the "all" section of Google brings up a number of forums and wikis I've participated in, as well as my Twitter account (on which I've only posted 2 things, 1 of them by a friend who was using my phone >.>). I also found some matches I've participated in on League of Legends 3rd party websites.

I integrated the results I found with a blue color. The figure on the top-left is the current character I'm playing as on Path of Exile. The D on top of my head is the logo for Drawception. The cat on the bottom right is a Kavat from Warframe. And my eyes are from the profile picture I use on Twitter, heavily modified of course.

Looks like someone played a trick on you!

The creature on the bottom left is Lulu from League of Legends. According to my friend, that is the character I play best with. I wouldn't be able to find a direct relation between me and Lulu so I decided to apply a different filter to her. I used the same filter on myself to show that they are both things you won't be able to find online.
Nope, not creepy.

The last thing I added to my portrait was the background. I used a screenshot of my hideout/personal area in Path of Exile as the background here. As with the Lulu and my picture, I applied a Glowing Edges filter to my hideout. While it did fit in fine with just the filter, I felt that it was too bright and drew too much attention so I added a black to dark gray gradient on top to darken it.
It's the start of the league, so nothing special to look at.

  1. I really like your self-portrait! I think you were able to incorporate a lot of different elements of yourself without making the final image too cluttered or "busy". That was something I definitely struggled with when I was creating mine. I think the idea of not being able to find yourself with your real name, but rather with a username is very interesting too. It really lends itself to the idea that the person we are online can be a completely different persona.
